Ok, so clearly I need to plan my garden better next year. I just want corn & squash & melons so bad! However, the melons have taken over.

So thought. I'll have a kid so I might not invest in another bed just yet. If not then I'll plant tomatoes & peppers per usual (starting those puppies in January!!) Some beets & spinach could be grown in the patio enclosure in those shallow beds I used last year.

If I can get the wood moved to it's new location we'll put a mulch bed by the compost barrow & I can put my melons in that. The bunnies should leave them alone since they have textured leaves & minor spikes. Chipmunks must be shot!

Corn...sadly I don't think I've got an HOA acceptable location. Tempted to make a wall with corn to block the neighbors we dont care for. Might keep their kid out of our yard....then again parenting would fix that! The dog will become target practice if it comes after my kid!

I should have room in the big bed next year for dicon radish & Bok Choy maybe a kareon chilly pepper. & I'm hoping to plant garlic this fall so I'll be all set for more kimchi! If I even need it! I'm about to ferment a gallon tonight!

Am I missing anything? What else do I eat?

Oh yah. So fun shit at work today. Talking to Dale (boss) & I get a tickle in my throat, turns to a cough then a hack. I try hacking into a paper towell, nasty taste evolves in the back of my throat & goes up my nose. my gag reflex kicks in so I run to the bathroom hacking & gaging....poor Dale thought I was dying! Dry heave a bit then it all settles down....the shit that happens when you're pregnant!

Back in the garden! I thinned out the basil and made some pesto. Ate some with dinner and froze the rest for later enjoyment. Looks like I'll be the only one enjoying it though as the mate says it tastes like yard! Huff!

Today shall be in the yard. Taking my time mowing and raking then edging. Ugh! To have my full strength and energy back!

I'm sad to say I've been busy! Just kidding that's a good thing!

I've got some produce in the garden getting ready to pick. Super excited about this! The storm that came through a few days ago, and lasted till yesterday did some damage. Seems it took out my lowly watermelon and bent some tomato plants. I also had to toss an acorn squash as it got ripped off the vine.

Besides all that I got my pantry restocked for Iron Shot Cafe! Then proceeded to make some goodies! Dark pretzel clusters and some energy bites. Both available for sale! I'm working on the new gift box. "The Traveler" based on my dear friend Amanda who travels constantly! It would seem there is a terrible lack of coffee available for her and, well, I just can't have that! I hope she likes everything I put into it for her!

Baby news update:  Aidan is head down [ie butt up!!!!] and kicks like a pro. One month and 7 days to go!

Picked today!

A long day yesterday trekking through Hocking Hills State Park to Old Man's Cave. I really started feeling the burn on all those steps leading out of it!!! OMG! I can't wait to get my energy back.

It was amazing being back in that kind of nature. Too many people, though they were nice and attempted to stay out of the images. Well some of them.... I think my sister had a blast. There was a few shots I'd like to still get but I might just have Dan take them for me since they aren't my sister's style!

As for recovery....I need like a week! I spent all morning puttsing around the house. I at least got some dishes cleaned. Around 2pm I broke down and made a latte...now I'm at work and still tired. My calves are burning....

Watermelon and honey lattes!

Viking braids!!! I win!

Love the background!

Man was that water cold! Felt great!

What a day!

Dan built my compost barrel, 6.5 hours later he built my trellis then we moved some rocks. That rock bed is gonna take forever!

Eating bark when no one's looking.

Removing the rocks

Converting barrel...a major pain!
