Table cover is all done. Again I must thank my mysterious coworker for giving us the scraps of linen. All that's needed now is for it to settle.

Got some gifts wrapped. Made some good coffee freshly ground with my trusty, antique burr. Now sipping my press with the guard puppy wondering why I'm taking her photo! LOL!

The Husband finally got the floor down and the fixtures put in. I still need to get the shower all cleaned up, there are a goodly amount of paint and calk all over the edges. Best yet! No leaking!
Clearly I need to clean this...... don't look >.> |

I got a little motivated today and made some Bourbon Salted Caramel sauce and Cranberry Pumpkin butter. Proud of myself .... & yet I should have taken the puppy to get her nails clipped and gone grocery shopping....

Progress!!!!!
We had to take the light fixture off so it could be cleaned of salmon colored paint and a nasty collection of sticky dust. In this we discovered that the ground was done horribly wrong and the mount was upside down. Noticeably upside down... I wonder if he did all this himself or if his hired help was that bad.
Floors are in. Base mold and door trim are being painted and my job today....clean up the shower edges. Again the previous owner can't paint....There is a huge calk mess and paint all over the tub like he painted everything with only a paint roll. Sigh. A razor blade will be so much more efficient but I don't wanna damage the frame.
Just treated the dirt for buggies and am about to fertilize all of my babies!
To see how it all started check out the first post!

I came home early with sickness to find Dan had made another mess.
Progress on the master bath. Or rather some hiccups. The laminate was glued to the subfloor, the toilet base ring is rusty, the window is condensating like mad and there is water damage near the shower.

I'm gonna start with my utter distaste for large companies that make it so that you have to re buy the whole item rather than a piece that you need!
I picked up 2 valves which Dan put on and whoop done, right....wrong. Turns out the leak was a hairline crack in those janky cpvc pipes they love to place into homes these days! So! The valve has this cute cpvc sleeve that you glue to the pipe then tighten down onto the valve with a nut. Well since it was installed properly that means that when the valve gets taken back off to fix that freaking cracked pipe we would need a new plastic piece. Only you can't get one. The only way to keep this valve looking like all the others in the bathroom is to purchase another $11 valve. WHY?! I'm tempted to make one with a coupler but I'll need to get the original off and see how it was made. I should have played with them before letting Dan put it all together. Live ya learn. Also, ACE is all out.
I ended up going 15min south to Menards thinking surely THEY would have something....nope not even a valve that looks like the one I got. They only had couplers in packs of 25 (I hope to the gods I don't need that many) and all the pipe cutters were huge wrench style monstrosities that wouldn't fit in our wall without making a HUGE hole. So back in the car and another 15min south to Home Depot.
Found the coupler, found the hand sized pipe cutter, got a foot length of new cpvc pipe for the repair, some extra plumber's tape since we were getting low and a new valve which I have to change the handle on so it mostly matches.
Then since I was hungry and irritated when I left Menards I forgot our sinks pedestal so I had to stop back in after Home Depot and get it. Ugh! The good news .... I got Georgia a new rope toy!
After all that I got home around 3 and made lunch then began making pumpkin butter!

Started work on the masterbath since the husband can't stand how it looks now. The rod the previous owner installed was too small, causing the walls to bow and leak. It's also too high for any curtain we have.
So his plan: glass doors, vanity sink, cabinet, new floors and paint. I want a nice wee crank window!
So....the problem: Dan got the door and existing cabinet off, then the vanity. However, when we turned off the water to the whole house when we pulled the shut offs (they are those push/poll valves). Once the water was turned back on we noticed the valves under the sink leak.
Problem #2: It's after 9pm and the hardware store is closed.
Now it is morning, we still have no water. My task today is to go pick up proper valves.

Got some sewing done! Whoop! Cuffs are the only thing left on the costume. However....while working on this my wee guard puppy commandeered the ottoman and proceeded to growl at the neighbors shooting their wee machine guns! I'm so setting up my archery target! >.>

I have some ideas!...when don't I....
So the first is all about getting my drinks & treats out to everyone. If I go to farm markets I have to have tables, covers loads of cookies & all the nitty gritty of running a business out of my car. Not so bad. I've done it before. BUT, if I wanna serve my drinks that's another animal entirely. I need a temp venders permit, good for 1 day & $80, a commercial kitchen just to make it even though it doesn't fall under "potentially hazardous" plus everything else.
So, how do I make this easier & cheaper!? Have my own bloody trailer. Well that adds a whole new element to the cost. It's by far more cost effective, no kitchen fees, no temp permits. I'll have one yearly cost for both. Oh the up front costs of it all!
Enough moaning! In rolls the Ford Transit. This adorable mini sprinter van would work. I couldn't carry my own water supply but honestly where will I ever be that won't have public hook-up?! I even have plans on where everything will go. Now to get funding! Anyone got an extra 10k laying around?! LOL!

What do you do when you get a bad grind from your favorite coffee house? A whole bag mind you. Do you toss it? Use it some other way? Take it back?
Well this is the second time it's happened (so sad) so I felt wrong about taking it back. I did so some experimentation! Those who follow my Iron Shot Cafe know that espresso is amazing in my shortbread! However a fine grind make a surprisingly weak french press. So I took some of my courser ground beans & mixed it in a bowl one filter size at a time until I found a ration that extracted perfectly! Thankfully it only took 3 tries!
My ratio on my breville is 2 scoops (tbls) commercially ground espresso grind to 1 scoop drip grinds. Leaves just enough space for no pressure overload!

In my attempt to organize my studio I've decided I need to clean out some projects.
From previous posts you see that I've finally gotten some mending out of the way and here I'm getting some finished projects out. They are for sale on my facebook page Jewett's Faire Shoppe. I'm also trying to knock out my WIPs .... this is gonna take forever!
